At The Learning Journey Academy, we care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to start the next step in their education.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on learning and creativity. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we are able to create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn!

We decided to do things a bit differently here at The Learning Journey! We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.

Infant Program
(Ages 6 weeks - 12 months)
Infants are constantly growing, learning, and changing. So between cooing and cuddling, our teachers delight in your baby’s every advancement and discovery. From rocking and thoughtful interaction, to story time, and naptime, to singing and talking. The Learning Journey Academy teachers provide just what your baby needs, all in a safe, clean, and healthy nurturing environment.
Toddler Program
(Ages 1 - 2)
Our toddlers are offered a variety of opportunities to explore their world through play. Gross motor skills and social skills are developed through both structured and unstructured play. Their days are filled with music, art, dance, story times and more.
Preschool I
(Ages 3 - 4)
Although it may seem like fun and games to preschoolers, the curriculum we follow is packed with educational elements. Games abound that teach pre-reading skills like phonemic awareness and letters and sound recognition; basic math concepts; and hands-on science exploration.
Preschool II
(Ages 4 - 5)
Mirroring Tennessee's state curriculum standards, the pre-kindergarten focuses on reading, early writing, and basic math. Reading before Kindergarten, stem, smart board activities, science, social studies, art, music, and physical education round out learning.

Merging Teaching and Childcare
We offer a variety of programs, including care for infants and toddlers, preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten. We also offer after school care and a summer camp for children 5 to 12 years old.
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our school! Our mission is to teach, enrich, and empower young children in a safe, fun learning environment through many positive experiences and activities.

What to Expect from The Learning Journey
At The Learning Journey Academy, our goal is to produce happy, intelligent, well-adjusted children. Here you will find a nurturing, educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We recognize that each child has unique talents, learning styles, and personalities. Our highly qualified teachers and staff are committed to working within each child’s comfort zone to ensure optimal social, emotional, cognitive, and language education results.
We partnered with the Department of Human Services(DHS) to assist working parents with applying for assistance.We also have a partnership with LeBonheur Early Interventionand Development, TN Child Care Resource and Referrals, and many more.
- Healthy chef-prepared meals each day that meet dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, vegan, etc.
- Flexible hours to accommodate parents with busy schedules (including date nights and weekends)
- The opportunity to explore the surroundings with field trips and more.
- Events that allow kids to learn more about the world around them like career day, guest speakers, etc.
- Outdoor play that teaches little ones how to respect Mother Nature and interact with her in a meaningful way.
